And I bet every one of them is worth millions. There's always something to replace what's here in Florida, and a line of suckers to sink money into it.
Wanna bet all of them are already demolished?

Well, I can totally understand why that house was abandoned. There are houses like that all over the country and they're just not really fixable anymore. And also I can see why the Allysian was abandonded.
But you know~the Hyatt looks like it's in very decent shape yet. Of course the yard needs some care and some trimming, but it looks like it's still in nice shape. Do you suppose it was taxes that made the owners abandon it? Or maybe the building isn't up to code or something? It's kind of a shame because it looks like it's still very salvageable.

I wonder if it's some kind of lien or something, and prospective buyers can't get clear title. That's what happened to a large hotel here, near I-275. It stood vacant for years while the lien situation was argued over.
Agreed on the house - it would cost far more to rehab than to tear down and build new. I wonder how long that one has been vacant - or where it is, just curious.
It's an interesting website. For anyone who goes to the Nature section, the wild parrots are Nanday Conures. (sorry, am a bit of a bird nut )

Very cool site. Looks like lots of mold in most- wonder if that caused some of the abandonement or if the mold happened when they were vacated. The nursing home was creepy. Wouldn't it be cool to know the stories behind them?
I used to love to go through abandoned old homes and barns in NC years ago. Imagining the feel it would have if the families and animals were there.

Any building left abandoned in Florida gets vandalized and mold grows inside. Older buildings without drywall held up better, but the newer ones start growing mold and mildew as soon as they are closed up and the air conditioning turned off.

The hotel reminded me of those old hotels on Ocean drive/Miami beach- there was a weird one north of Bal Harbor- shaped like an Egyptian head- I wonder if I can find that name- those small hotels were built in the 50's I think- when we rented in Surfside they were gutting alot them-
