This is funny, to be advised to "avoid bad sections in Ft. Pierce", when a lot of sections are bad ones. And, trust me, there are LOTS of them in Ft. Pierce!
Went on for a ride on our motorcycle during the summer. Went along the main drag there....garage owner just got shot by two black guys......police EVERYWHERE!! We were RIGHT THERE< when it happened, heard the shot! SCARY!!! |

Oh, yeah. Because of course pot growing houses have led to SUCH a huge incidence of crime, murders, and people laying in the streets passed out from crack. Apparently, living next to pot houses is perfectly fine. Funny how they can't even tell they exist without the use of FLIR devices! |

The Palm Beach Post. “In St. Lucie County, whose phenomenal boom-time growth once prompted a front-page story in The New York Times, new foreclosure filings in January more than quadrupled, RealtyTrac said Tuesday. And some analysts say the worst may not be over.”
“In St. Lucie County, speculators fueled a run-up in home prices, as they did throughout South Florida, analysts say. Consultant Jack McCabe estimates that as many as 50 percent of St. Lucie County buyers were ‘investors buying to flip homes like a share of stock.’” |

What a shame. Maybe I can grab one of those foreclosures......I think a part of my soul just died. Let me cash in on someone else's misfortune...Geez that may very well be the only way I could afford to purchase a home in PSL...but not necessarily within the county.
The ill remarks about Fort Pierce have grounding, but there are lovely parts as well. I work in Fort Pierce day and night and have never had a problem, I do not lock my doors. I am patiently awaiting the new area in PSL that will somewhat serve as a downtown. Does anyone know the time estimation of the Village Green area and what will be located there? Please let it be stimulating. Pleeeease! |

"Ft. Pierce once had the ubiquitous distinction of being the 'crack capital' of Florida for its being the largest entry point for illegal drugs into Florida."
There is a lot of stigma attached to FP that is ancient history. And there is a lot of history in Fort Pierce that does not warrant stigma. PSL County is so divided and it is such a shame. |

Move to PSL -now can't get mail
This is not about housing market. Just some complain. As I posted before, we purchase a beautiful house at Tradition. But now we can't get our mail. The post office is located in St. Lucie west (Far away from us) and people works there are very mean. We can't get any mail because post office and the builder, Divosta are blaming each other for the responsiblity to give us the mailbox key. Now we suddenly realize that we may move into the wrong city. Never meet this kind of situation before. Although we are naturalized citizen, we should still have the right to have access to our mails. Do we? May not be PSL.. |

I have never experienced one good vibe in that area or have known anyone who has. A friend of mine moved there to teach, and it nearly ruined her career and her life. The north area, the seemingly nice area, looks boring and is wall to wall condos. It just gives me the icks, dunno why.

I' ve owned a home in PSL for 19 years. I rented it out for a couple and went back home to Pa. I realized I don't want to winter up there so I moved back to PSl and resumed my business. I go to Pa for the summer and fall.
Ever since about 1995 the mail has been a nightmare. I finally gave up and got a PO box in Jensen Beach. I live east of US 1 and not far from there anyway. Best thing I ever did. Now my mailman puts my neighbors mail in my box (accidently) on purpose. I just write 'wrong address' on it and put it back and raise the flag. The postal service here is bizzarre to put it mildly. And even though people like me have written postmaster general it never gets better. I have said this in the PSL news before, I wouldn't let them deliver an email...! ![]() The mail in Martin county (Jensen Beach/Hobe Sound) is the way is should be. They are very nice. |
