Thank you for posting. I appreciate it.

Well, now THAT would be an interesting legal argument. Let's say you have 1 million in an interest bearing account. Thruout the year however the dollars buying power erodes ( safe bet ). Why can't that loss be deductible?

Scamutz, my specialty is in my profile.

But I have opinions too Heheh

I don't think sales will go through the roof, but alot of stuck retirees will down size and cash out with the portability of SOH. I just cant see an insurance change any time soon. That will take years to work out.
Crist has his work cut out for him Thats for sure.

I look forward to your professional, well-researched market evaluation(s). For those of you watching at home, this is where it will get interesting.
For the sake of clarity – You are not my client! As such I owe you ZERO except for that that I would give a stranger under normal circumstances.

Further if you were my client I can assure you the information you receive from me would exceed your capacity to absorb it. This is not a reflection on your abilities so no disrespect intended but more a matter of my specific area of expertise, background and training.

In my opinion you are leveraging this forum, trolling for free advice sucking value and content offered by the good natured and well meaning – more power to ya, but why don’t you just admit it?

Insofar as your challenge – well I’ll get back to you on that. Time permitting with sufficient answers for the benefit of the forum.

Nowadays a bare bones worn out double eagle is worth almost $600.00 bucks and will still buy a suit of clothes whereas a $20.00 Federal Reserve note ......?

In the 1920's , 30 of those double eagles would buy a new Ford. So would $600.00 in Fed Reserve notes. Those same double eagles today, even in very worn condition would net roughly $18,000.00 and would still buy a new Ford ( Or Honda! ). Meanwhile that 600 bucks in federal reserve notes..........
If you deposited your 1913 double eagle $20 dollar coin in the bank tomorrow so you could go out to buy a house how much would they credit you for? $20.00

Collectables however valuable are not commonly used as currency. I don’t think handing over the keys to vintage Bugatti at title closing would be acceptable.

Back in 1913 what was the average -weekly salary? About $25-30. The same 30 weeks of average pay that bought a ford in 1913 still buys a ford today.

Is this thread about coins or housing?????????

That's a heck of a ding. That looks like more than 10% to me. Those are tough numbers to absorb!

Thank you for the information.

Thanks for the update. I didn’t see any of this nardi gras stuff but then again the NAR is pretty useless except to collect fees from parrot realtors.

I have not followed Mr. Lereah PhD since his head swelled as the top dog economist in one of the most highly visible industries for the last 5 years. If there is a bubble in real estate surely it sits atop Mr. Lereah’s shoulders.

The only things I watch from NAR are those statistics they produce that are used by the government and as far as re-sales go the average price is still above 05

Please clarify what stat the chart shows – I suspect it was new home sale prices.

PS Muggy could you share your picture of Mr. Lereah with us.
