Hello, I am Robert and I am from Simpsonville, SC and I would like to move somewhere between Destin, Fl and Pensacola. Does anyone know where the best place to live and work that isn't over expensive to live?

So as a military member just moving in, where would be the best place to live? In Pcola or in a suburb?

Do you have kids? School quality is widely variable in the area.

Hello! can someone help me, I need to know if the area of 9th and Olive in Pensacola is a good area to live. I will be moving to Pensacola in July. I would like to stay close to my work at Baptist Hospital and colleges, but I want to stay a way from any ghettos or hoods, and I will be taking the bus for a while. So if anyone can provide me with any info that it could help me.

LOL DAPHNE....Stay away!!!! If you like everything you own taxed including FOOD then go..I checked out Daphne and surrounding area's and it is expensive and you are taxed to death. Nothing to do. 50 miles over and you have Fla with no state tax..and they don't tax what you eat.

School districts in Florida are at the county level, and Escambia County (Pensacola) can be pretty hit or miss. I'd probably look in south Santa Rosa County for better schools- Gulf Breeze is just across the bay from downtown Pensacola and is a nice small town. If you want a more subruban pseudo-Columbia experience, I'd look in Holley-by-the-Sea for the huge rec center and community programs out there.

Milton, Pace, Crestview, Baker...if you want cheaper housing. Or, Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, Navarre, if you dont mind paying more for housing and property taxes. I have no opinion on Schools.
