There's another gated place called "Oak Run" in S.W. Ocala - an adult community for 55+, though as I understand it one of the buyers has to be 55+ but if one of the spouses is over 18 it's still ok to live there. I went back in May to visit one of my ma's friends. It's a beautiful place with a country club w/chandeliers, golf, pools, etc. They go around in golf carts, lots of security. They have dances, travel & do all sorts of things together. I know they said they pay about $150 in maintenance fees. The yard maintenance & cable is included in that. They are very happy there and don't regret their move up there at all. I saw people there that were in better shape & younger looking than I am.
Anyhow, Oak run is on the web if anybody is interested.

diddy02 is on a distinguished road
My mum lives in The Villages and she loves it there. She is single, originally from Britain and was very shy. Now I can never get hold of her. She is either at aerobics, cheerleading, line dancing or whatever else she has discovered that week. This place is absolutely wonderful, makes you want to be 55+.
These people know how to enjoy themselves and they are very welcoming to anyone who lives there.
My husband and I go up there to party! The residents only bar/restaurant has live bands that are very good and if you fancy a really late night you can go for a sing a long at Crazy Gringos.
Homes go from 200k upwards. Dont buy abything too big you'll never be there!
I guarantee it will make you feel 20 years younger just moving there.
I know where I am going when i am older.
