Born in Tampa in the early 70's. We moved to Boca Raton when I was around 14 and went to middle and high school there. Then my brother came to visit me and while at the beach in Boca, he convinced me to move to Tucson, AZ with him. I packed up my 1970 Beetle and we drove to Tucson. Later I joined up with a cousin in San Diego. I'll be moving out there again, probably to Los Angeles once I'm through with college.

Moved to Naples when I was 1 from NY. I've lived in Naples 26 years , Key West 1 year, and NH 1 year. I plan on staying in Naples for a while and not moving again.

I was born and raised in South Florida, living in Hollywood all the way through school (21 years). I lived in Fort Lauderdale for a couple of years, moved to Orlando for 5 years, left the state and lived in Washington DC for 3 years then onto Durham/Chapel Hill, NC for 5 years, moved back to Orlando for 3 years, went back to Durham/Chapel Hill for 2 years, then back to Washington DC for 6 years, followed by 7 years in Philadelphia and now back in the Orlando area...whew!

I was born in Coconut Grove 35 years ago. Grew up in North Miami Beach and went to Norland Middle for their arts program, and later, NMB senior high (go Chargers!). I lived in North Miami and then Hallandale, but took off for South Beach once I turned 19. I pretty much had it with that place after being mugged and my apt broken into. Headed for Kendall and lived there for about 5 years. I worked in Homestead for about 2 years and then we decide to move to Chicago. THAT's where I finally felt like I belonged somewhere! Lived in the northern burbs for 3 years and loved every minute. Came back to FL in 2010 and have been living in Brandon (by Tampa).
My pet peeves about FL and true of every part of it I've lived/worked in...TOO MANY DANG PEOPLE!!
It will take double or triple the time it should take to get from point A to point B. Traffic lights are even longer here! Lines in the store are long and, to make it even worse, the vast majority of people here are self centered, rude, and horrible drivers. Not all, but too many.
I long for a nice, quiet spot in FL that's not a dead town or a ghetto. Just, quiet and wide open, and friendly. Sadly, it really doesn't exist in this state. There are no seasons, no neighborhood "togetherness", no sense of community.
Oh, and the other thing...education is sad, sad, sad.
I don't really get the appeal to live here, but as we are all unique individuals, I guess there are just some folks who would live anywhere as long as there is no snow. :-)

I've lived in 4 states, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Texas.

I was born in Orlando, FL (Yup, Native !)
I was raised in Tampa, FL

I've lived in the following cities...

Orlando, Tampa, Plant City, Sanford, Lake Wales, Lakeland, Bartow, Clearwater, Lehigh Acres, LaBelle, Ft. Myers, Nashville, Hendersonville (TN), Mt. Juliet (TN), Memphis, New Orleans, Galliano (LA), San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Spring (TX), and currently live in Conroe (TX).

I've never really stayed in one place for too long, atleast in my adult life. I was born and raised from birth through my 18th birthday in Florida.

IMHO, (no offense intended) Florida would be heaven on earth if all the northerners went home, the liberals in Tallahassee stopped worrying about the environment so damn much, and the state produced REAL jobs instead of the cheesy tourism jobs. That's the only issues hold me back from moving home.
