Hi all! My wife and I am retiring in 2 1/2 years and I am looking to buy a condo/townehome in a community (i.e. Celebration) . If not the Disney area possibly west towards the Gulf. We are torn between children coming down to go to Disney versus living closer to the ocean or gulf. Any comments/tips would be appreciated.

I would live near the water, just my opinion as I like living near the water. Even if you lived near certain parts of the gulf you could be within a day trip to Orlando Theme Parks. So you could have both.

I agree with the above, move close to the ocean and enjoy what you like year around. It is only 1 1/2-2 hour drive to Disney from most of the beautiful gulf ocean beaches!

Celebration is awesome, but with Disney almost next door the traffic is horrendous in that area.

I would look into the Sarasota area for similar places like Celebration.

If you had to you could stay at Disney for a night or two when your kids come down.
