Do Floridians Like People From Midwest, NorthEast?
I have read many posts on this forum and it seems like Floridians just do NOT like people from the northeast. Why is this exactly? Would like to hear all opinions from anyone living in Florida.
Also what do you think of midwesterners? I have not read too many negative things about us, LOL>
I guess you could call me a "hick".... There is alot of that here in Central Illinois. So I am hoping that I will fit in well in northern Florida.
Thanks,
Jen

There are a lot of mid-westerners living in Lee County. I mean, a LOT.

How could people from Florida not like the VERY people that come here so much...
People from the NorthEast tend to congregate in South Florida and its true there are ALOT of people from the MidWest over on the West Coast of Florida...

I live in NE fla and the folks are pretty welcoming here.
As a matter of fact most people I meet are from someplace else.
If you have been on the Jacksonville forum you will see lots of very friendly folks.

I second that. I meet a lot of people here in Jax that are from elsewhere...all over the states and from other countries.
I guess because I grew up in a place where everyone was from somewhere else (NYC & NYC Metro), it's no big deal to me - I don't care where anyone comes from, why should that matter? Why be divisive?

I must be an "oddity". I was born and raised in Manhattan. My family lived in Manhattan since they came off the boat in the 1800s. I am the first generation to leave (LI).

I spent my summers as a child in Indiana. The MidWest people are OK. Flame me if you will, but I have more problems getting along with "Southerners".

Amen,to "southerners" but no animosity otherwise.Have you looked at taxes and insurance???We lost ours in 2005 and still have none. With inflated prices in NE Florida,we are in Lake City area and will be selling.

There are so few of what you would actually call Floridians. I can't see what bone they would have to pick with people from somewhere else, since they are probably from somewhere else themselves. Some seem to have the attutade I was here first and you can't come. The place is a mish mash of all kinds of people, who cares where you are from.

Florida is a melting pot, one of the things I love about Florida is the fact that you meet people from all over the world.
