That one is in Bama.
It shows up in a lot of the crazy laws lists but is actually a normal law.

No peanuts in Bama...no sex in Florida! Wonder what it's like in Georgia.

Aw, fellas, just kidding...I know it's serious stuff...and some of these laws are archaic.

What I'm more concerned about are the laws pertaining to fishing since I'm a loner without a gal so the other laws won't affect me.

Hopefully when I go fishing the only thing I need worry about is an alligator creeping up on me!

Most of these laws might still be on the books, but are either ignored, declared unconstitutional directly or indirectly, etc.

Most of them cannot actually be enforced, and police departments quietly ignore them...if they are smart.

And some of them aren't silly at all. Not molesting Key Deer for instance, that's a good idea.

Regardless of the reason?

You sure about that?

And what's so special about KEY DEER that only that type of deer is protected!

They are special and rare. Have you ever seen one? They are smaller than normal deer and very cute.

The problem is they have a VERY limited habitat, small islands that get overdeveloped, etc. And they usually have little or no fear of man, which is a problem. Not being afraid they wander into roads, picnic sites, and can even be a nuisance. One tried to steal my sandwich once.

So the law exists to keep people from feeding them and treating them like pets, which is deleterious to their chances of survivial in a shrinking habitat surrounded by well-meaning and curious, but dangerous, tourists.
