Yes, the North End of The Villages is in Marion County and borders Summerfield.

I have family in the Villages, their only complaint is their HOA fees (they have never lived in a place they had to pay them before).

You can find some nice housing right out side of The Villages and still be accessible to all the same shopping, restaurants and local attractions with out paying thousands of dollars a year for the privilege of the name, if you wanted to.

Summer Glen is a lovely community. I have a few different friends who live there. They really enjoy it.

This is my first attempt at trying to figure out what this is all about. I am seriously thinking about moving to the Villages from Texas. Any do's and don'ts that can smooth my plans would be greatfully received.

The Villages has a Charter School on its property that is said to be a very good school. There are so many in Florida that are not. The many retired teachers from The Villages have been volunteering their expertise in many ways to the nearby schools. They also have fundraisers to buy what is needed for the schools in the region. The pay is nowhere near NJ pay.

I love it. It's big....but the Villages are broken up into smaller "communities" (Villages). This makes for a warmer.... small hometown feeling. There are activities for every taste. The best thing to do is visit the place for a few days to see if you like it. It is definitely for the active seniors.
