Of these counties, which is generallly the most devoid of violent crime, and which one(s) have the most? I'm mostly talking about random violent crime though.

citrus, hernando, pasco, sumter, lake, charlotte, lee, polk, desoto, hardee, glades, highlands, manatee

I thought Lake Co would be near the top (safest). I guess not.

I was going to put Highlands Co near the top and Lee and Manatee at the bottom. I see that Lee Co is in the middle, and I'm a little shocked.

I thought Pasco would be much higher. Lake is a little surprising, as is Desoto, mainly since there's almost nothing there.

I wouldn't go by statistics alone as in many counties there are some bad spots but not the whole county.

I only know for Hernando County but 2009 violent crime was down over 15% from those 2008 numbers and overall crime was down over 11%.
