Default lake camp/cabin/trailer in small town?

hello, everyone,
i love the small, rural town living. we have been searching for a lake town that hasn't been found by the developers....yet. the shabbier, the better. no gated communities for us. this is just for fun. can anyone suggest a small town on or very near a freshwater lake? i have in mind the "fishcamps" of yore.
thank you,
shelb

Have you checked into the Ocala forrest area? I'm not sure what it is like, but we're interested in the Ocala area and it appears they have a mobile home park in the Ocala Forest. We're hoping that Silver Springs, which appears to have a population of around 10,000 is the place for us.

Hey check out De Funiak Springs...we have trailers and a small town feel with the second roundest lake in the world! You would enjoy it here. It is located in the panhandle in Walton County.

In the middle of the state there are tons of lake towns. Check out the towns along 301 near Ocala, Citra, Waldo and others. Believe me, there are alot of tiny little towns tucked in there.
