I would like to move from illinois to Florida but I don't know where to start, I am a single female, I am looking for lots of scenery, easy access to beaches and parks, also access to local stores, I want a nice clean community with no gangbanging crime( I had enough in Chi-raq) and no rift raft hanging on the corner, pet friendly and good weather, any ideas that won't cost an arm and a leg, oh yeah and a diverse community.I will take care of the job thing later.

something to think about:

January Weather

Average Temperatures
  • Daytona Bch: High 70°-Low 47°
  • Fort Myers: High 75°-Low 54°
  • Jacksonville: High 64°-Low 42°
  • Key West: High 75°-Low 65°
  • Miami: High 73°-Low 63°

August Weather

Average Temperatures
  • Daytona Bch: High 90°-Low 73°
  • Fort Myers: High 92°-Low 74°
  • Jacksonville: High 89°-Low 72°
  • Key West: High 90°-Low 79°
  • Miami: High 87°-Low 78°
Florida QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau

I would also suggest a long road trip from coastal Texas down to the keys then back up to North Carolina to check out all the options.

Keep in mind that 10000 other people had the same idea as you this morning to move to Florida and worry about the job thing later, so you will be working for much less than northern wages, if you can find work.

The job thing is the most important thing, unless you have enough savings to tide you over for a year or two. Do you?
