PLEASE ignore the real estate people!!
I hope most people reading these threads will go check out housing bubble info. on the web. Just type housing bubble into any search engine.
It is becoming apparent that more and more people who have a vested interest in selling and renting overpriced Florida real estate are now posting under various names.
Please check out all the thousands of real stories on various blogs, complete with links to the actual news articles.

Should they also check out the web pages that tell us the goverment blew up the world trade center.
They have web pages so that must make it true.
I also take it that you are the good samaritan just looking out for everyone else because you are non-stop telling evryone the market is going to drop another 30-40% stay there.
What if you are wrong and those people listened to you. They could be paying 10-20% more than they may now.
State your case and let others put their 2 cents in but don't get paranoid because not everyone agrees with you.

probably true, too many people are over extended, too many homes were built on spec, too many crackerbox houses were built in undesirable places, all those types of homes will indeed come down in value, but decent homes in decent places occupied by people who can afford their commitments, communities like that are holding their values and some of them are going up in value.
Buying today can be very rewarding but finding the right home in the right place at the right price isn't easy, you can't be lazy and you must do your homework. Values will not be shooting up anytime soon, you must have long term vision, if you aren't planning on living in a house for at least 5-7 years, maybe buying a house isn't the best investment.
What I am saying is that for well positioned buyers who have the proper vision, this could be the best time ever to be buying property.

I really don't think this is true of most posters on this issue. I think they just believe the opposite of us. We feel we have read, researched, analyzed and seen enough to convince us that this is not over. They may have done the same but come to the opposite conclusion. Time will tell who is right.
I'm offended when others tell me I am a sheeple, jealous, or greedy and that I just want the market to collapse.
I'm sure others are offended that they are accused of being real estate agents and greedy sellers.

all that I can say is that if you need to buy a home, if you have the resources needed to buy a home then now is a good time to be a buyer, to repeat, it isn't an easy thing to find the right home at the right price in the right place, but if after doing your homework you find a place where you find good values in quality properties, this is a time to buy.
Like others have noted, some of the biggest naysayers here are probably people who are not in a position to buy and are hoping for collapse in order to bring prices down to a level that they can afford buy at. I suspect that these people will be the same people who after things have turned around, be it taking 1 year 2 years 5 years, will still not have bought a home and they will be moaning over how they blew their chance to buy.

I think I'd rather listen to the real estate people than the people desperately trying to buy a house on the cheap, thinking they will "crash" the market further with doom & gloom posts.
The bottom line is - READ EVERYTHING! Then you decide what "the market" is doing or not doing.

I find it funny when I see the term " doom & gloom " used. When I see it I think of prevention. Hurricane prevention, terrorist prevention, accident prevention, fire prevention and so on. If you didn't think of some sort of prevention, you would have to be extremely brave, or extremely naive. By reading some of these posts it reminds me of when I was a kid and someone would double-dog dare you or call you a sissy. If the real estate market is such a great thing to get into right now, don't you think it's awfully strange that theres so much cold calling being done on the internet? I for one could'nt care less about wether somebody buys or doesn't buy a home. But what does concern me is the economic fallout we are faced with. In Tallahassee today there were more people lobbying to save thier investments and not thier homes. I find this quite disturbing with it being such a good time to buy and all. So don't ignore the real estate people, thier just trying to make a buck, and don't blame the people that are trying to sell, thier just trying to pass the buck. But by all means don't buy into the term gloom and doom. It's just another way of saying we don't like someone who is intelligent and informed.
