I totally agree. It should have been a multi-faceted effort. Instead they didn't want to be bothered, and just left it for BP.

WFSFCS hindcast and forecast surface trajectories for Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill using OI Wind

This is a link to the USF College of Marine Science and their prediction of the path of the spill. Sorry if this is a re-posting of the link.

Watching CBS Evening News. The reporters showing a couple pelicans stuck in the oil, alive. Just wondering if anyone helps these birds or they just let them die? I know they have saved hundreds already, with hundreds more washing up dead.

They are setting up volunteer connections. Huffington post had a thing on it. I went to the site and put in my zip and there was something going on near me with like 10 people signed up. I think they will train you and you can volunteer. I have a problem with volunteering to clean up something someone else did who should be paying. With so many people out of work people should be paid for it not have it done by volunteers. This is different then me showing up with my chain saw after a hurricane to help someone out.

I wondered about this because I read you need training in the hazardous materials first. I'll definitely check out the site.

I was just looking for it and could not find it but I will check my history I am sure it will be on the computer somewhere and I will post the link. I think in this case there is a real problem with dealing with that oil especially is it has been treated with the dispersant. We all want to to the right thing but you don't need to get yourself sick and that is a real possibility.

I'm back and I found it. It could be BS or maybe something people will want to get involved in
