This subject often comes up on this board and here is another case with what many may think is a surprising outcome. Not really though, Florida may not the wild west but minding your own business and not threatening people is a good idea.
I think I remember a while back a guy killing a trick-or-treater one Halloween on his front porch not even being charged.

That's a good result, but it isn't really case law. It's a jury verdict that isn't precedent.

No, but it influences a future prosecutor in bringing a case. They don't like to bring cases they can't win that cost the courts time and money.
I don't think I would want to have this case decided just by a judge if I were the guy. Your best shot would have to be with a jury.
