I'm puzzled by the Tallahassee harshness because it's got a perfectly pleasant urban core for a city its size. If I compare it to other similar middle metro state capitals, I'd put it rather smack in the middle- behind Madison but ahead of Lansing.

In other small metros, I'm underwhelmed by Panama City and Ft. Walton Beach, both of which have so much potential but just don't get there. Pensacola actually has some nice history to it and beautiful old buildings, but go a couple of blocks west of Palafox and into the alphabet streets and it's total crack den ghetto.

They do for now. about 4 million more people. I consider Miami far more important than Jacksonville. I even Consider Ft. Lauderdale much more important than Jacksonville.

The Miami metro has 5.5 million, the second closest is Tampa at 2.7 million. Jax is only at 1.3 million.

Most large cities in FL are more important that Jax. I would say ranking them it would go Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, then maybe Jax.

Like I said, the only reason Jax is the most populated city in FL is because of their land. They're the 5th largest city (land wise) in the US with 757 sq miles of land.

It's all a sham!

Who the hell voted for Orlando? Are you out of your mind, or have you just never actually been here? It's one of the cleanest and prettiest downtowns in the entire damn state.

There's nothing in Downtown Tallahassee except for a few churches, law offices, and government buildings. It's like, what, six or eight square blocks? It has (or had) potential, but it seems that every historic building has been demolished for government places and nothing really took root. The whole town is a dump, anyway.
