Most people don't drink enough water, especially during the summer.....it plumps out the skin, but not like one of those fake Foster Farm chickens....those ads are hysterical!

It sounds like, with a gallon of water, one would be in the bathroom all day, too, but that's not how it works.....unless a person takes diuretics, the body adjusts..... Caffeine is a diuretic..... Fever depletes the body of water and so does breathing...(i.e, when we blow on a window, it makes it 'foggy')

One of the first signs that my daughter doesn't get enough water is her dry/cracked lips...... She got dehydrated once, passed out and ended up in the ER on an IV...I yell at her to drink something when I see her lips....she is not one to carry around a water bottle unless I make her....(and then I find them in the floor of her car!).. She swam competetively for years.....they are in water but don't drink enough....

Okay, back to my water bottle.....

You're so right Wurzig. I complain about it, but try and make sure to drink a lot of water, 'specially with the a/c at work drying out my delicate complexion!

On our land out in the country we have rainwater, so I'm trying to drink more of that as well. We could drink the water straight from our creek but the cows tend to um...'flavor' it somewhat.

Back to it then!

I agree with you. I definitely don't drink enough water. My mother has been asking me for years to drink more water so I'm really trying to get better. I am an adult and married but my mom still bugs me about those things. She's a worrier I am drinking some right now! I notice if I keep a glass by me when I am on the computer or reading a book, I will drink it and don't even notice that I just drank a whole glass. I have been drinking water with dinner instead of a diet coke.

I regularly gulp down a half gallon at a shot when landscaping in the hot summer sun. you don't really appreciate how important water is to your body until you've sweat out about a gallon per hour.
