I messed up & put my ? on the wrong subject.

So lets try this again...

Has anyone heard about the fake chicken ?
Two scientist have developed a process making chicken out of tofu. I saw it on the news Friday at noon.
The reporter was from our area... he was hesitant about trying this fake chicken, you could just tell by his face.
This fake chicken looks just like real chicken breast. I was amazed.
The reporter took a bite & he couldn't believe it. He said it was really good & couldn't tell it wasn't the real thing.
The patent is in process on this fake chicken. So they couldn't go into much detail yet on how they make it.
I thought it was pretty cool.

I think it is nice that they have made something that looks/tastes like chicken and does not have the cholesterol/fat/etc. from chicken.

But I am one who does not understand why people insist on calling non-meat products "fake" meat...
I would eat something made of soy protein or tofu any day, and would much rather buy a product named according to what it truly is and not a "meat substitute" or "fake meat/chicken".

I buy "veggie burgers" but would prefer to buy "veggie patties"... they are not burgers. If I want burgers, I pick something else.
I would buy tofu or turkey, but not a "tofu+turkey" product. It is just a turnoff for me.

Usually some of these "substitutes" are pretty bad for you, sometimes it is better to eat the real thing if that is what you are craving.

Don't get me wrong, I did not mean to criticize it at all; I think it is actually a good idea, if people prefer to call it "fake" chicken, that is fine with me, I was just posting my opinion, Sillypups.

This has been done for years by various Seventh Day Adventist groups (and served in their hospitals).
