Horseradish and tabasco - somehow "cancel each other out?" (grilled, ketchup)

Wondering as this just happened: I grilled a hot dog. I got some ketchup which has tabasco in it and decided to put that on the dog along with my usual hot n sweet mustard. I know that both of these by themselves have a nice little kick. I tried it, and......zip. Nothing. No kick at all.

I don'y like any foods spicy "HOT". I just can't eat those.
My Mom & Cousin LOVE Horseradish.
My Cousin puts it on his toast in the AM.
WEIRD !!! if you ask me. I still claim him as my cousin, tho . LOL...
