NEW YORK — Wendy's is introducing a line of salads such as Apple Pecan Chicken and BLT Cobb as the fast-food chain tailors its sales pitch to focus on "real" ingredients to appeal to foodies.

The company, a unit of Wendy's/Arby's Group (WEN), is also testing breakfast again across the country.

They rolled out the breakfast menu at a few Wendys around here over a year ago. It is good!

It begs the question...were their previous ingredients fake? Sounds good, though.

Thank you, same thing went through my mind when I read it LOL

Kinda like the "new and improved blah blah", so what were you selling me before then?

I"m wondering what the price on the salads is going to be. The last salad I got there was over $6 and was like 90% lettuce. No wonder they want to promote more salads! The profit margin must be huge. Sorry, guess I'm just a cheapo.

The article said they will retail for $5.99, about a $1 more than their other salads.

That's what I was wondering. That might account for how tasteless their salads were, however.

The only one they ever had that I really liked well enough to order frequently was a baby spinach salad. I guess spinach got too expensive as I don't know any fast food place offering one now.

I don't understand why the article said they didn't want to release the breakfast menu. Breakfast is already served at a lot of locations around here and it's posted all over the web (the menu, by people taking pics of it).

It's square buttermilk biscuit sandwiches, french toast stcks, breakfast sandwiches on a regular bun, blueberry muffins, hashbrowns that are like McD's, and cinnadips.
