I have a really stressful job. I have to problem solve, do crisis intervention and talk to insurance companies for 12 shifts. I am always having to be professional and "nice." On my lunch break, I run out to my car, put on the radio, kick back and eat alone.
I really enjoy eating alone. There's just something about enjoying my food and the peace and quiet. I guess it's because I grew up in a large family with an even larger extended family.
I think my co-workers may think I'm strange, lol. I can just do without the chatter during lunch.
WOW ~~ me too. Love my quiet. I'm my own best company. hahahah
I'm okay eating alone whether it's at home or at a restaurant. Many people seem fearful of going out to eat alone. I would assume that these are people who really go out to socialize rather than eat.
Although, I probably enjoy food at a different level than the common person ;-)
I eat alone most of the time these days. I still find it hard to make certain meals for one (even with freezing leftovers), especially the one pot type things like stews and casseroles. I always make way too much as I got used to cooking for a "crowd".
I ate many meals alone as a kid and through college and I think I'm used to eating alone. I don't have any preference though.
I'm a teacher and sometimes I don't like to eat in the cafeteria with the other teachers because they just gossip about each other. I kinda feel that if I'm not there or don't leave lunch early they won't talk about me. But Ive been told point blank that that won't stop them.
I'm also not a fan of eating dinner and talking at the same time. I'll listen to my husband and love to hear about his day but I'll let him talk first and then tell him about my day when I'm done eating and then he just started eating because he was talking the whole time.
Usually only lunch, in the park. Often so many beggars hassle me for money while I'm there trying to mind my own business and take a break, it doesn't feel like I'm actually alone.
I eat alone quite often and have no problem with it.
