I've been to other restaurants in my adult life that were good, but the most memorable was The Franklin Manor in MA where my parents used to take us, all dressed up, on special occasions when we were little, in the 1950s. They had finger bowls, and also lobster newburg. I've never had lobster newburg as good as their's was since.

If you get there on opening, the 50 or so tuxedo waiters escort you to the table like groomsmen at a wedding. Then worlds best stone crab claws and sides.
I would be out of there in 10 seconds or less.
I would pay to not go there.

Wow, I remember eating there as a child. I believe all the ones in that area closed up shop a long time ago.

Bonanza and Morrison's were my favorite place to eat when we went into the "city" to shop.

Chain:
Maggiano's

Mom & Pop:
Dominick's (Italian) in the Bronx. Family style. Sit with strangers. No menus. Awesome food. Haven't been in about 10 yrs, but dream about going back on my next extended visit to NY!

Nothing where I live inspires me soooo..

"Local": Coops Place, NOLA

I went to a Claim Jumper in CA years ago, really liked it, so that'd be it for the chain.
