-Millions of eggs from the Iowa farms at the heart of a massive salmonella recall are not destined for the garbage but for a table near you.
The recalled eggs that were already shipped to grocery stores and restaurants are being dumped by the truckload. But the eggs still being laid by potentially infected chickens will be pasteurized to kill any bacteria.
Not us...
We have our own chickens & they are free range AND... Spoiled rotten I may add.
Fresh eggs from them... we always give them away cause we have too many.
If I was smart I would charge for the eggs, but so many people are spoiled with us giving them eggs, I can't charge them.I couldn't do that.
In an average year, in the USA, about 150,000 people become ill from salmonella varieties associated with eggs.. Health authorities estimate that about 2/3 of all people who have symptoms of salmonella do not seek nor receive diagnostic medical treatment, so the actual number of people affected is more like 400,000. The number who die is 30. Thirty, out of 400,000. One out of 13,000 people who eat a salmonella-infected egg will die.
Why are Americans so easy to frighten?
