My husband just brought home a dark chocolate from Sprout's. It's Luker, 85 % chocolate. It was in the large bins, not very sweet, but the chocolaty taste more than makes up for it. Very good and something different.
I didn't email Lindt, but I have checked their website. Those delicious morsels have definitely been discontinued. A while ago, I checked on Amazon, where they had them listed for sale. I tried to buy them, only to find out that they didn't really have them anymore.
I do think that Lindt discontinued that product because of the nut issue, but I'm not sure about that. This is a quote from the Lindt website FAQ section:
"Which flavors have been discontinued? Peanut butter and vanilla recipes have been discontinued."
Not sure why they discontinued both the peanut butter and the vanilla recipes. Ugh!
I'm planning to go to World Market this afternoon with a friend and will definitely try to get some of their chocolate while we're there. If I'm able to get some, I'll report back, as promised!
Each time I go to Holland, I go to this Lindt shop close to den Haag (The Hague) and as you can see, they have more flavors than you can shake a stick at. You can grab a bag and fill it with whichever ones you want - they had over a dozen flavors last time I went, probably close to 20. Obscure things like cafe latte, strawberries and cream, champagne, lemon, etc. That's just the truffle balls - they have lots of other items, too.
If you're not planning on traveling to the Netherlands soon, then check out Costco - last Christmas they had enormous gift boxes of Lindt truffles and chocolates. We bought a big bag of mixed truffles last time - the mix had extra dark, dark, milk, white, and peanut butter.
Recchiuti. My spouse sometimes brings an Alfieri Almond bar back for me when he goes to the Bay Area for work. If you're in the mood for a splurge, let me recommend the Key Lime Pears. They are my absolute favorite chocolate treat in all the world.

I just got back from Germany and in one town my accommodations were close to a small outlet mall with a Lindt store. You are right, it was wall to wall candy, including many varieties not found over here.
For those who are mourning the loss of Lindt chocolate & peanut butter, there are a couple of US brands of the same variety. Newman's Own Organic Peanut Butter Cups, and Justin's Organic Peanut Butter Cups, which are available in milk, dark or white chocolate are every bit as good. And you can get them by mail without having to search the stores.

Ahhhh1 I forgot about Germany. Some of my favorite filled chocolates are the dark chocolates filled with Asbach Uralt German brandy. You can get zits and a hangover in one fell swoop!

Dove dark chocolate is excellent, especially for a grocery store brand.
Reese's peanut butter cups taste better after a spell in the frig or freezer.
Lindt truffles,yum
