A Kentucky man accused of strangling his wife is poised to claim excessive caffeine from sodas, energy drinks and diet pills left him so mentally unstable he couldn't have knowingly killed his wife, his lawyer has notified a court.

Seems that persons high on drugs don't get off, so why should this guy.
I think his attorney was/is scrapping the bottom of the barrel for a defense. But I don't have or know all the facts etc in this case.

Sooo, can I use lack of caffeine as a defense? Really, unless I have my 2 mugs of black coffee in the a.m., you best brush up on self defense if you get 'tween me and that good stuff!
