That's really interesting. I had no idea.
What bugs me most about his swearing is not the cursing itself, though; it's the beeping out of the curse words. The beeps are very distracting.
PS. I don't watch this show. I only turn it to the channel that it's on shortly before 10, waiting for the news, so I usually watch the last 10 or so minutes of Hell's Kitchen. And I'm not at all proud of those 10 minutes.
I hate the bleeping as well. At least BBCA channel allows more words through than the prudish American channels, (or the equally prudish C-D nanny filter). I often hear the word "****" on various BBCA shows (the word that C-D filtered is a 4 letter word starting with s and ending with hit, y'know, like Artie's problem). I also hear "****" a lot. (4 letter word starting with t and ending with its)
Have you ever watched "The F Word"? on BBC? Love that show. You see Gordon Ramsey as a regular person - with his kids/wife, etc. Completely changed my perception of him.
The show is centered around his restaurant with the same name.

They were a little more lenient in Canada, too, mostly after 10pm. Honestly, what 9-year-old kid can't figure out the BLEEP when he has the context of the rest of the sentence. Stupid.
PS. Artie doesn't have a problem with his ****. *I* have a problem with his ****. And, as an aside, Artie didn't just have to make an appointment for his mammogram to get his **** squished.
HAHAHAHA! That was fun. I know they'll show up as **** when I post it, but I still felt a sense of freedom typing it. I love my ****ing freedom, dammit!

LMAO!!!!! (Funny that I'm allowed to include the "A" here, isn't it? C-D should "correct" it to LM*O. )

But KN, Kitchen Nightmares, is a completely different type of show. Ramsey is different on his other shows too. The British version of HK was with celebrities. Don't know if they did more than one season.
I've always thought the show was totally contrived, that said i used to enjoy it but this new season is rubbing me the wrong way for some reason and i'm just not getting into it.
All "reality" shows - The Bachelor, Survivor, ANTM, Hell's Kitchen, "The Real World", etc. are scripted and staged. There may be some "surprises" here and there that just occurred on their own, but by and large there is a script they follow. Check out "Wife Swap" or "Supernanny" - funny that these supposedly random families all have lives that seem to follow the same formula - week after week. I refer to it as "Surreality TV".
