Yankee Biscuits with Neese's Country Sausage and scrambled eggs
Growing up (as a Yankee) I never even once saw anyone who kept buttermilk in the frig. Even at the grocery stores it was something you had to look for. Therefore I learned to use "soured milk" using lemon juice (always have lemons around)... then I also use butter flavored Crisco and also some (gasp!) brown sugar in the recipe.
You don't want to know what I do with corn bread.
