Default Fast Food Salads ??'s

Just wondering for those who know what are the best fast food joints that offer salads. I'll be traveling soon on the road for a few days of vacation so i will eat mainly salads and drink tea at the franchises. I usually like chicken salads at home as i'm not a vegetarrean. Any suggestions.....

Ruby Tuesday's has an excellent "fast food" style salad bar. Just order carryout and your golden. Also perhaps your local grocery chains.

Arby's Chicken Salad Sandwiches are delicious! Chunky chicken, celery, walnuts, red grape slices, raisins, and herbs of some sort in a light mayo on multi-grain bread. It's the only meal at any ff place that I think exceeds the class of ff.

I think most ff places have decent salads, my only issue is with the dressings which can contain unhealthy amounts and types of fat. I suggest bringing your own salad dressings. Car coolers are wonderful and highly suggest them. They keep everything nicely chilled. Keep water, salad dressing, a few ice compresses for emergencies, soda, and you may as well pre-make your own salads to bring with you. I'm single these days and even I find it useful. The dogs REALLY love having fresh chilled water at the rest stops too.

The Arby's Martha's Vineyard salad does have fattening dressing - the salad is good without any dressing - it has fresh apples and cranberries in it (as well as mandarin oranges and chicken and other things) - so lots of flavors that are great without dressing - but tis true - the dressings are usually more caloric than the salads.

To my delight, the Asian and SW Chicken Salads at Mickey D's are healthy and delicious! The Asian Salad has edamame, red peppers, mixed greens, mandarin oranges, and Newmans Own sesame-ginger dressing. The SW has Mixed Greens, black beans, grilled corn, chilies, tortilla strips and Newmans Own SW dressing. The grilled chicken has a tasty glaze on it, too! I usually hate McDonalds, but they really outdid themselves on the salads!

I agree the Asian chicken salid at MD is excellent 5$ another choice is Boston Market..they have a number of choices...and will add some sliced grilled chicken to it if you like for another 1.50 . Thank goodness road/fast food has gotten around to offering some better choices.

We have Sweet TOmatoes, which is exactly the same thing/company with a different name. Sweet Tomatoes offers a false perception of health though. The breads and pastas, with all of thier refined flour, can really get to your waistline. Also not many meats offered.
