cod/halibut/rockfish all have worms.
After they die the worms move into the lower area of the flesh, and the East coast companies that do process have a method of getting rid of them:
it is called being..."candled" the filet is moved over a bright light and worms are visable(sp)(in a hurry) and are cut out.

Also, Halibut are nutorius for worms the same process is used here also.

When you buy any white fish fillet...just hold it up to light and or better yet cut out the lower portion of the fillet.

The East coast processors do a magnificant job in this regards.

HW aka...Capt. seafood over 30 years in the biz..?pm me.
