Roast chicken, yellow rice, and peas, just not feeling very inspired lately, must be the heat.

Kalyn's Kitchen: Recipe for Shrimp with Mustard-Horseradish Sauce

As I said above, I prefer this as a main dish tho the blogger calls it an appetizer. The sauce complements green beans SOOO well, and lightly toasted french bread as well. I think Dawnie prefers it over rice though.
AND French bread. I'm a double-starch girl. I love me some carbs.

Now I want this for dinner. We don't have ANY of the ingredients in the house, though. Well, we have the mustard and the horseradish, but that's it. We're going through our inventory so that we don't have to toss a bunch of stuff when we move in a few weeks. Looks like frozen pizza is on the agenda for tonight. Again.

PS. Did you know that only my family and closest friends call me Dawnie? More proof that we're sisters.

Cube steak (the only steak the kids will eat) with a mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Hubby said he'd bring home some pork butt steaks from town. So it will be that, asparagus and some form of potato.

I had my chicken matsaman at the Thai restaurant yesterday hijacked by my 98-year-old stepmother-in-law, so I'm starving. I hadn't eaten anything all day and I'd been working outside, fixing the horse fence.

Step MIL apparently didn't like what she had ordered and helped herself to my bowl of matsaman without so much as a please, and all the while 'accidentally' nudging her bowl of food over to my end. I wanted to wipe the benign, little-old-lady smile off her face but I only had a fork and a spoon for weapons

I think there is some pork loin roast left and I have some sweet and sour sauce. A pot of green butter beans would make a good meal with some fresh tomato wedges.

Decided on hot roast been sandwiches with mashed potatoes and a whole lot of gravy so DH can just let it slide down his sore throat and some summer squash on the side.
