I'm buying some next week for a party...I think.
The name sounds weird.
I've seen it, but have never bought any.

Hummus is tasty. Chickpeas blended into a paste. Serve it sprinkled with cumin, or paprika, and drizzle some olive oil over the top.

Get some pita bread and slice it into quarters, so people can use them for dipping.

The dogs will like it. I personally don't care for it. I would rather have guacomole or salsa. I don't really like the texture or taste of it...or the color...my daughter buys the big tub of it at Costco and eats it with carrots.

It's essentially a middle eastern version of bean dip. The beans in question being garbanzo (chickpeas, to some). It's generally blended with lemon juice, some olive oil, tahini, and spices. Different varieties with different ingredients blended in (roasted red peppers, garlic, eggplant, etc.) exist as well, but the base is garbanzos.

It's a relatively healthful spread for pita sandwiches, or dip for raw vegetables or toasted pita wedges.

I love it with a little extra olive oil and garlic on top.

I like to take it along with some toasted pita chips to parties myself. It's a nice alternative to all the heavy sour cream based dips that usually show up.

Tasty Mediterranean bean dip. Serving with pita bread and cut up veggies seems to be traditional, but I like it best with pretzels.

Man can live on hummus alone. (almost literally)

Excellent vegetable protein with a high fiber and high mineral content.
