Me and a couple of girlfriends get together for dinner every 6 months so that we can catch up with our lives. This time we will be going to a Sushi Bar. A little uncertain. Any help, advice, suggestions, or just comments on past experience?
P.S. Excited nonetheless because our dinners are NOT about the food.
It wasn't all that long ago when I finally tried sushi for the first time. As I took that first bit, I immediately felt like kicking myself for not having tried it much earlier. The only way I can describe it is a heavenly, savory, complex pallate of flavor. The tuna, salmon, eel, or shrimp along wth the sushi rice and the seaweed is just divine.

If you're leary about raw fish, stick with what you know. I suggest rolls -- shrimp tempura (don't worry; the shrimp is cooked! ) especially. If you're willing to branch out into raw fish (yum!), I suggest spicy tuna.
Oh, and if they have spicy scallop rolls there, order two -- one for me!
I love sushi, but people who like to eat raw shellfish should know that Hepatitis A can be contracted by eating raw shellfish, such as crab and shrimp.
So... my suggestion would be to get a Hepatitis A vaccine first.
So I like fish. I don't have it as often as I would probably like but I do like it. I LOVE shrimp! So shrimp tempura I will have to try. I am not into spicy but who knows....maybe I will get a little "crazy"? I usually stick to my "comfort zone" when it comes to food. But by the sounds of it, sushi is quite enjoyable. I am hoping that is so. If not I will be ravenous by the time I drive home.

Great......I didn't know I needed to be up-to-date on vaccines before enjoying my dinner. Thanks, this advice is much appreciated!
