Smile Bizarre Foods on Food Network

There is a chef John Zimner that has a new show-he gets to travel the world (nice job!) ...and tries the most strange food in each region- he had some Phillipine delicacy which is a fully formed chick(cooked in egg)- batwings in Northern Thailand and some sashimi in Tokyo I cant even describe-lol. And conch from Trinidad. It was pretty interesting- IMO he has a great job but I doubt I could have eaten some of those things!!!...

I have seen several of those shows, man that guy will eat anything! I just saw one where they just caught a fish and he took a bite out of its side!

I know- It was sort of gross but interesting at the same time. The sashimi in Tokyo is really---unusual- I almost had to turn off the part with the full frog plate. I am amazed peole eat this. It must be a great way to lose weight. In Hawaii I did have alot of great seafood and they eat rice not pasta, so they are obviously eating better/healthier-

I have ethical issues with eating animals alive. I know it happens in the animal kingdom but I see no reason to inflict needless pain on my food.

I have a problem with animals being eaten alive as well. I have seen both this guy and Anthony Bordain eat hearts still beating. I know Anthony ate a cobras heart still beating, I think this guy on Bizarre foods ate a frogs heart that way.

This show isn't on the Food Network. It is on the Travel Channel. It's too nitty gritty to be on Food Network, not Perky, annoying enough. Thats why Food Network kicked Bourdain off and he went to Travel Channel.

I quite agree Jason. There is no reason for it whatsoever. I would eat many many things but never anything alive. That is just cruel.

I also agree but I guess he is just showing other cultures. Apparently in places like Malaysia -well they get their source of protein from mangrove grubs, etc.; it is gross but I like to learn about other countries I may never get to see.

Grubs are actually very nice ! ( cooked not wriggling of course). Quite meaty texture and sweet taste.
