Super high in cholesterol. You can find pork brains in most grocery stores in the south. Usually just one brand. Armour, usually. I've never eaten them, but check the label sometime. Here's a picture of a label. http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/AA00D2...-A19EEF1C6744/

That's right. 1170% of your daily value of cholesterol.

Again: ALMOST 12 TIMES YOUR RECOMMENDED AMOUNT OF CHOLESTEROL IN EVERY CAN!

If you want to see strange food just watch Andrew Zimmern (Bizzare Foods)on the Travel Channel. He will eat "ANYTHING". On the topic of fried rat. Zimmern did an episode from the gulf coast and the the regional food that the folks eat down there. Some looked interesting and I would like to try it (Turducken). However he tried to slip a quick one in on this city boy. He went out with a local guy to the backwaters of Louisiana. The old timer tracked down and killed a "NUTRIA" with a stick. They brought it back to the old timers place and he cooked it up. Now having grown up in the city, I've seen plenty of critters. I'm pretty sure what a rat looks like and I'm thinking that the "NUTRIA" is some sort of rat. Now Websters defines it as "A large South American semiaquatic rodent (Myocastor coypus) with webbed hind feet and a round nearly hairless tail that has been introduced into parts of Europe, Asia, and North America". My dictionary says "A rat". Anyway here's a photo of this "NUTRIA". What do you think? That's Zimmern on the left. By the way they finished the day off with a little dish of fresh squirrel. Yum!!

Unbelievable. Thanks for the link to the pic. I'll have to show it to my husband; not sure he actually believed that I saw such a thing on the grocery store shelf.
