I sprinkle it on cut fresh fruit to make an easy, surprisingly elegant dessert. Esp. good (and pretty) on ya li pears. It's also good in coffee, I'm told, though I don't sweeten my coffee. Oatmeal, too.
Penzey's rubs makes all foods taste better. I love stopping by their store in Santa Monica but I remember the last time i started smelling all the different curry seasonings and couldn't stop sneezing.
I'm addicted to their Arizona Dreaming, Old World Seasoning, and especially, the Fox Point Seasoning.
I went to Penzey's last weekend and picked up a few things: kosher flake salt, peppercorns, a pepper grinder (our old one broke), red pepper flakes, and white pepper. I saw the Fox Point seasoning there and smelled it--I like it! But what do you DO with it? It's pretty chunky for a seasoning ... I assume that's the shallot?
Anybody who uses Fox Point seasoning, please advise! I'd like to buy it but only if I will use it.
Hi Julia. I use it in everything, even though it's so expensive. I add it to flour and bread crumbs when I'm breading meat, or to the meat directly when I'm roasting or crocking it. You can add it to oil and vinegar dressing for salads, etc.
