You may have noted that canned corned beef is not to be found on grocery store shelves. The reason for this is the use of an animal de-worming drug not allowed in the U.S. with most being pulled from store shelves.

If you have any of the contaminated products in your home food inventory it's best to just throw it away. Don't eat it !!

Illinois Firm Recalls Imported Beef Products Due to Potential Animal Drug Contaminant

Recalls Cause Canned Corned Beef Shortage

I miss my corned beef sandwiches.

That "good stuff" had better be Guinness brew and not more corned beef!!

I was wondering where all the corned beef went. After reading the recall notice I would not worry about it. I kept asking all the stores I frequent and all they kept saying was a production shortage.

Yeah right. I know for a fact I ate some of that corned beef. Well at least I wont have to worry about worms for a while.

I just saw corned beef again in Costco about two weeks ago and snapped up about twenty cans. Just checked not part of the recall. Whew, I thought I was going to have to something different for breakfast.

Only Hereford brand for me.
