Not only do we go into each other's fridges... We feel free to go into each other's garage and get the really good stuff that's hidden in back of the "garage fridge".

I tried to put my best friend for life in the fridge, but he wouldn't fit. So - no, unfortunately he can't go in there. Not unless I cut him into smaller pieces first.

Oh wait - this was serious thread?

This ^ is pretty much how I feel.

Specific to the OP, if my BEST FRIEND was visiting, I would have no problem with her helping herself to my fridge, because she is like family to me.

My garage fridge is free of mouldy food and anyone can go into it. It contains beer, wine, soft drinks, coolers, ice cream and freezies so that no kiddie or adult using the pool in the summer has to come into the house for a snack. This is less about anyone potentially going into the kitchen fridge than it is about keeping kids with dripping swim suits from running back and forth as they get their treats.

I'm working on a project right now. It's a mat for in front of my refrigerator, only, when you open the refrigerator door, it triggers the switch to turn on the electrical current to the mat. I can switch it on or off at the wall switch on the wall in the living room, right next to the kitchen entryway.
Part of my problem I'm having with it is that I want it to run on 240 volts instead of 120.

I have a hard time believing that you wouldn't let me or Nan open your fridge and grab an apple without asking.
