When ppl come into my home, I want them to be comfortable. Whether that means I serve them or they help themselves is up to them...I'm just happy for the company.

My "best friend for life" is my wife and my fridge is her fridge so all that is inside is free game to her. I may sometimes say something like "Hey!! Did you eat that leftover pizza that I was saving?" or "Did you drink that last bit of vodka?" or "did you eat the last........." whatever. Its okay.

Oh wait - this was serious thread?
SOO glad to see that I wasn't the only one thinking that!

anyone invited to stay in my house should be comfortable enough to help themselves..... they'd starve waiting for me !!

The only thing we do is put our fave/expensive wine on a separate shelf in our wine fridge and tell visitors....'touch it and die' .....anything else is there for the eating !! but i usually stock up on things I know they will like too so they don't need to raid my stash!!

If you're in my house, you're in my fridge. I'm quite impressed that most people still ask permission to access the cold zone. I don't really care. If you're hungry, have something to eat. If you're thirsty, have something to drink.

I'm talking about someone you've known your whole life. Through thick and thin.
It depends on the person. A lot of the people I've known for quite a long time are not family. Some are always welcome and some know enough not to come near my home.

Of course, my best friend can look into my fridge and/or take whatever she wants. However, was have completely opposite eating habits (I eat healthy and she eats everything I wish I could eat ), so I doubt she'd find anything in my fridge she'd want to eat/drink.

If I like you enough to invite you to my house, knock yourself out.

My best friends/siblings/cousins can come in my house and grab whatever they want out of the fridge, even if I'm not home.

I've never had a casual friend or neighbor just walk into my kitchen and grab something outta the fridge, but if they did it wouldn't bother me.
