Yet another story of how the Chinese are selling their souls to the devil to make a bigger profit - go figure. How anyone can still eat anything with the words "product of China" on it is beyond me.
I just started experiencing this in the past year or so. I almost started a thread on it. I looked it up online and saw that it happens to a lot of people. I've eaten pine nuts all my life and never had a problem. But now I do get that weird metallic-y taste that takes a few days to go away. I hate it. I figured I would check out the ones at a Whole Foods or something and see if it happened with those. I love pine nuts.
It sounds like they were treated with something or the trees were grown with water contaminated with something. Not surprising given how horribly polluted China is. I know I avoid putting anything in my body which was made in China because they cheat and poison so many people; remember the poison tooth paste or the baby formula with no nutritional value?

Yes, wouldn't it be nice if you could actually rest assured that the food you're eating wasn't poisoning you?
From the article, it appears they are mixing a type of pine nut in that is not fit for human consumption:

Now China – which supplies most of the world's pine nuts – has admitted some exporters have been mixing the Pinus koraiensis variety with the cheaper but inedible Pinus armandii.
