As I read up about these so-called "superfoods" I have been inclined to purchasing more and more of these. I'm still learning and was wondering if anyone else in CD land has some pointers.

Some of them, like honey, acai, and cacao are easy enough to source. I have still not found a local vendor for goji berries, which I sampled at a relative's home a few months ago. Still looking!

Anyone else into these? Which ones are you buying, and where? Likes, dislikes? I am not loving the wheat grass juice, btw. Look forward to hearing from other superfoodies.

My favorite is a tie between blueberries and avocados.

In Southeast Asia they sprinkle sugar on avocados, try it, I for one like it. Though I eat a lot of Mexican food so I normally would add avocado to it when I do.

I consume them so much that when I get my own place I'm going to get those plants to grow my own.

You might be interested in finding a place in Bonsall - they sell 10-20 acre properties with entire groves of Haas avocados.

I too love blueberries - any berry, actually. Have you tried goldenberries? I saw some on Amazon and am intrigued since I love tart stuff. I never met a berry I didn't like. Except maybe, the dingleberry.

If you like Peruvian food, try blending some avocado into your aji sauce - it makes it a tad mellower, and much smoother.

Default Kombu sea vegetable

Every day, I make a soup with Kombu sea vegetable and water. Kombo expands as it heats in the water, and makes a very satisfying and fulfilling meal. It appears to clean out my system too, eliminating any bloating I might feel. Great for weight control and reduction.

Hrmm ... my thoughts are leaning towards a move out of CA.

I have not tried goldenberries, never heard of them before actually. They look beautiful blossoming. I'll have to try some.

Never had Peruvian before, a lot of indication as of late that points toward a long sojourn into South America.

I wonder if that Kombu is related to Kombucha - wow, that stuff is delicious chilled! Where do you get your Kombu?

I just googled black rice - I never even heard about this before! I thought you might be talking about wild rice - now I am intrigued based on its history. Where do you buy yours?

Actually, I believe peanuts qualify - I too eat a fair share of it. I buy the kind that only has peanuts and salt to avoid all the unnecessary stuff they put in - I just stir it down once to distribute the oil evenly and keep it refrigerated so it doesn't separate.

I am so glad I started this thread - I've already learned some new items to look for. If anyone has any more, please let us know where or what type of store or vendor you get your product from.
