Eh, you can buy or make peanut butter that's simply ground up peanuts. How's that for processed?

For what it's worth, most reduced fat peanut butters are so altered in ingredients that they aren't actually legally able to be classified as peanut butter anymore. Look closely at your label and see if it's a peanut butter or "peanut spread." Like so many things, it's usually more healthful to go with the full fat version in smaller servings.

I thought I had read that peanuts absorb toxins, and this article confirms that.

I buy the big jars from Walmart, but it would be worth a trip to the health food store to get organic.
If you make your own, do you add oil? Peanut oil, by chance? I don't think my blender would chop them fine enough.

I'm not worried, trust me. I won't go into the gory details.

Shouldn't have to, as there's already oil present in the peanuts.

You need a food processor, right?

I used walnut oil for a smoother consistency but it is perishable, needs to be refrigerated and used up, you do need a food processor.
You do not need to add sugar or salt and the amount of oil you use is purely on your prefrence of consistency. (You should use a little oil)
