I can not stand lemon and I'm not much fonder of orange. The only citrus that I don't find offensive are ruby-red grapefruit, limes, and blood oranges. I definitely find lemon in particular to be very bleechy to my tastebuds! Orange I don't mind the taste too bad but it hurts my stomach. I used to have a pretty extensive list of foods that I did not like, but as I got older I would periodically try them and most of them I have learned to enjoy - some I have even learned to love, like avocado, yum. But I don't think I'll ever get used to lemon.

Exactly why I usually do not like other people's roast chicken! Like a citrus grove threw up on it! Actually, if citrus is used in cooking, in small amounts, and becomes part of the overall flavor I don't mind it, but if I can distinctly taste it I am done. I think I might have got some lemon Pledge in my mouth or something when I was a kid, when I smell lemon I think - cleaning product. Cooking with orange works better for me because a hint of the flavor doesn't bother me and whatever it is about it that hurts my stomach is fixed by cooking and/or dilution.

I use lemon in so many things, never realized how many but one of my friends is allergic to lemon. When I cook I have to make an effort not to use lemon, lemon juice or zest.

I'll eat tofu cubes in hot and sour soup, but I avoid ordering any dishes that tofu is a main component of. I'm pretty sure I'd even eat cardboard if you deep-fried it though.
I hate celery because of the flavor. The texture is fine; I CAN eat it raw with peanut butter on it as the pb seems to somehow cancel out the flavor. I like the crunch. In soups I have to fish it out because it tates so awful. I don't eat many veggie soups because they are usually FULL of celery and picking it out won't help...the celery taste is there.

I like tofu but much prefer it fried when it is the main part of dishes. It just holds together better. Many Asian restaurants will fry it for you, I would encourage you to try that! It's really good in a dish like cashew tofu (like cashew chicken but tofu instead of chicken).

Liver.
Watermelon. I had an uncle who hated it too.
Any kind of peppers. I even got meatloaf in a restaurant and it contained peppers. Wrong. They spoil the taste of everything and they just burn your mouth.

Meat loaf is usually made with bell peppers. Do they burn your mouth?

I do not like curry. Anything curry. Maybe I had a bad experience with curry one time. But now, it just smells like it is covering up spoiled meat. It is just "off". Even the smell is nauseating to me. I would probably gag if I ever went to India, so I don't plan on going there.
