I have a black, plastic pot-pan with a lid. The bottom does not contain any information that says the pot is microwave safe.
Inside the pot, it is marked in "cups." (and milli liters)
1 cup, 2 cups, etc.
It won't survive long, on, or in, a stove.

Anyone have an idea what it is used for?

One hint: The lid has holes in it, as if steam, etc. is allowed to escape.
Another hint: The lid appears to be rotated to keep it in place. It is hard to get it back off though, it almost has to be forced off. It seems to turn to keep the lid in place, but then turning it back the other direction, it does not come off very easy.

So, something measured in cups or milli liters, and a lid with air vents.

Thanks.

Is it similar to one of these?

PAMPERED CHEF Rice Cooker Plus microwave bowl black NEW on eBay!

I have a microwave cooker that I use to make rice. It sounds a lot like what you describe. Yes, you also can cook oatmeal and even "bake" a cake in one.

If it is microwave safe for X minutes, I guess I can use it for most anything.
