When I grill I usually grill chops, dogs, burgers and steaks,etc...but never ribs.

I want to buy a rack of Prime Cut ribs.....I called a local butcher and asked and he said he had some.

I called the meat dept. of my local grocery store and the lady stated: are you looking for roast or steaks?

Does anyone understands what she meant? I was confused.

I want to ensure I am getting want I want....a few racks of prime cut ribs. Am I saying that right?

Ron

I think the meat department was asking if you wanted a standing rib roast (prime rib) or a bone in rib-eye (which also has a rib). They are all considered ribs too.

Perhaps you should ask for spare ribs or baby back ribs?

If you want beef ribs, then simply ask for beef ribs.

Beef ribs are what's left over after the butcher/meat cutter carves out a boneless rib roast from a rib roast.

I was going to answer but it looks like you already got what you need. Have a wonderful 4th and enjoy the ribs, they sound great regardless of which you end up grilling.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to come back and let you know how it went.

I went to the butcher but the did not have a good selection, most of it was sold out by the time I arrived so I went to my grocery store and purchased a nice slab of beef loin ribs.

They look good.

Thanks for your help.
