My grocer said to hold it in your arms and hit it with the palm of your hand. If it sounds like you just hit a basketball, it's good. If it sounds solid, probably not so good.

i don't understand WHY things need to be seedless. everything has been so dumbed down for us that even food cant contain seeds and pits for fear of someone not knowing how to eat! everywhere i go olived have the pits removed, fruit is seedless...it's sad really.

Seedless watermelon must be planted in an alternating pattern with SEEDED watermelon, for pollination reasons.
