I know if we were closer to some good restaurants that serve good salads, lite meals I would tend to eat out.
Living far from grocery stores makes it difficult to also get enough fresh vegies etc to keep for long.
When we go to town we do eat out and have a lite lunch etc.
I am looking forward to going up to Oregon in Aug., and enjoy a few of my favorite places.
We dont eat out alot at all but we do try to avoid turning on the oven if we can.
If I bake something it's in the morning and I use the ronco thingy for small roasts, the basket for chops and the grill for steaks.
We eat out ALL the time. We are changing that this summer. I am learning to cook (scary for him! lol) and we are going to see how much money it saves us to eat out only once or twice a week vs. 7 nights.
But I agree with the not turning on the oven thing. My mom absolutely would not allow the oven to be on during the Texas summers. That's probably why the microwave is my best friend.
We do not eat out much period but certainly we eat out more during the summer. I don't know why, maybe cause we are out more. As hot as it might be we are more inclined to go out in the summer, than the cold, cold, winter.
Too hot in the summer here to eat!! Lost 3 or 4 lbs in the last month and I don't want to lose. I like hot food and it's just not as desirable in this awful Texas heat.
I eat in more because of all the produce. But like other posters I don't eat out often anymore at all anyway. I'll usually eat in, then go out for a beer (preferably someplace with a patio!). Or I'll have a beverage and dessert at a sidewalk cafe. When I can I'll catch a good food truck, but I dunno if that counts.
We rarely eat out. It doesn't matter the time of year. We usually only eat out for special occasions.
I would most likely eat out a little more now because of the heat..but we are too far from town.
sounds like you are further than we are from town, but that is part of our reason also. We are only 8 miles from our little town center, but other than a couple restaurants on our lakes (only a few miles away) we are about 1/2 hour to really decent restaurants choices.
