I never had them growing up, and so it never occurred to me to eat them as a college student or an adult.

My wife used to eat them all the time, but we've gotten her away from that. You can get some decent frozen stuff at Whole Foods (that isn't jacked up with crap and preservatives), but o/w no way in hell.

Me too. When I'm running low, I'd rather eat buttered egg noodles or rice and frozen veggies then a TV dinner.

Once in a very blue moon, hubby and I will have a Stouffers Lasagna. I used to eat the Lean Cuisines, Healthy Choice meals etc, but now they taste too synthetic and unfulfilling to me.

Do you have a favorite brand etc?

Thats exactly why I dont buy them. Way too much salt! You can eat one of those nasty things and meet or go over the recommended salt intake for the day. They are also over priced. Thats why I usually cook almost everyday.

I started on them as a single guy for meals to bring to work on a budget. Started with the Banquet meals and yes, they are high in sodium, so's restaurant food. Lean Quisine has no preservatives as well as low fat. Healthy Choice has some very good tasting selections in their Bistro line. They also have a complete meal which includes meat, veggies, and desert. They're lighter and healthier than what our hospital cafeteria offers. Because of my work, I can't leave the hospital for any reason due to hospital safety.

No TV dinners for me...

I'd live on snack foods before I eat those.

I can't remember the last time I bought one of the actual compartmented TV dinners. Has to be more than 25 years ago. We do have a couple of the Marie Callendar pot pies right now. And every once in a while will do a Stouffers lasagna.

We love to cook and do it without canned or frozen ingredients for the most part. Buuuuuuuuutttt... oh the truth will out... I have this completely unacceptable like of those cheap Totino's pizzas, cooked crispy. Rarely, but once in a while, a couple somehow find their way into my freezer. And if it's a weekend day with icky weather... aagh I can't help myself! I need help.

Not since I was a child.

My parents were working parents, so we often had to eat dinner out of boxes such as Weaver's Chicken, Rice-a-Roni, frozen salisbury steaks, pizzas, etc. Never again. I'd rather skip or just drink beer for dinner.
