Have swiss steak with onions simmering in the oven, will serve with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, salad, corn, and multi-grain rolls with warn honey butter. Have strawberries and cool whip for desert if hubby wants them.

Yesterday's hamburgers morphed into a venison and lamb chili with black beans. It didn't really take longer than hamburgers AND it was very good AND I made enough to give some to my parents and have leftovers for today.

My dad likes neither venison or lamb so I simply didn't tell him what was in it and he had two helpings according to my mother.

I'd love to get your swiss steak recipe if you care to share it.

I still don't know what I am going to throw together for dinner - think it is going to be leftover chili I have frozen and a salad. I need some new ideas (that DH will actually eat! LOL He is a meat & taters guy.)

Sliced hot & sweet italian sausage, red & green bell peppers, onions, garlic, sauted in olive oil, finished with a little butter & white wine, topped with parmigiano reggiano, ciabatta on the side with red wine.
