I cheated and bought them. Trader Joe's has good ones and they taste pretty good. But, I've had them homeade sometime ago and they're great.

I get crab meat at Costco for a fairly reasonable cost and one lb makes 6 with my recipe. After cooking, I use my food saver, stick them in the freezer, and when we are ready for them again, I just thaw and sauté in butter. Really good and saves money. We can get really good locally made crab cakes, but they are $14 for 2.

Our dinner tonight is beef stew with french bread.
